The rock band Chernobyl Jazz Club are from Reykjavik, Iceland. Varied compositions spacing into a personal doomy brew of heavy indie hard rock. The Icelandic lyrics flavour their massive riffage with an epic grandeur on their debut-album “Grimulaust”. Chernobyl Jazz Club was founded by guitarist Gummi in the winter of 2019, with Elli as bass-player. After a few personnel-changes the band got its current line-up in spring 2020 when Hreidar (drums) and Siggi (guitar) joined the band. Still there was a singer missing, many tried but none was chosen. By the fall of 2020 and after so many covid breaks, female vocalist Amalia from a band called Black Desert Sun, joint their ranks. The Reykjavik rock band Chernobyl Jazz Club are something very unique, with varied compositions spacing into a personal doomy brew of heavy indie hard rock, with Amalia's dramatic singing top vocals as cherry on the cake. Also, thanks to the Icelandic lyrics, the songs have an exotic appeal, which flavours their massive riffage with an epic grandeur on their debut-album “Grimulaust”.
